James P. Day, Founder and CEO of Suncrest USA, Inc., is a brand marketing executive with 35+ years working with Fortune 500 and early-stage firms. Formerly, with Saatchi & Saatchi, a Madison Avenue advertising agency, Day relocated to Silicon Valley where his marketing group launched brands such as Intero® Real Estate and developed National and International campaigns for 100+ companies, including — Auspex, Business Objects, HP, Informix, SAP, Suncrest and Sybase.
Suncrest® has become a highly-respected “local” lettuce brand throughout the San Francisco Bay Area where chefs from restaurants like the Ritz-Carlton®, the Fairmont, the Marriott® and Madera on Sand Hill, call Suncrest® Lettuce the best tasting, cleanest, most sustainable and safest lettuce they’ve come across — much to the credit of Pescadero Growers, Suncrest’s local grower that uses Suncrest’s proprietary deep water culture hydroponic technology.
Day has been issued 2 patents for his inventions in hydroponics and has developed 6 registered U.S. trademarks and 3 registered Chinese trademarks for Suncrest. He holds a B.A. in Chemistry from the University of Arizona, completed all the course work for a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and pioneered an interdisciplinary M.S. degree at the University of Idaho focusing on organic agriculture, renewable energy and systems integration.
