Dr. Erico Mattos, GLASE


Indoor Ag-Con Speaker Dr. Erico Mattos is the Executive Director of the Greenhouse Lighting Systems and Engineering (GLASE) . This is a consortium formed between Cornell University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, funded New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).

Erico received his degree in agronomic engineering from the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) in 2009. After that,  Erico joined the University of Georgia’s Ph.D. program in crop and soils sciences. There, he co-authored two technology patents on the biological feedback control of LED lights. Greenhouse_Lighting_and_Systems_Engineering_GLASE

In 2012, Erico completed Singularity University’s graduate  studies program. He is a 2013 recipient of the Gifted Citizen Award (Mexico).  In addition, he was named the 2014 Emerging Leader of the Year Award by the Georgia Bio association.  He is a two times TEDx speaker.  Most recently, he was selected as one of the 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Summit delegates. 

In 2015 and 2017 Erico co-authored two technology patents on the Phase Synchronizing Pulse Amplitude Modulation Fluorometer. This is a technology developed to monitor plants photosynthetic efficiency. Dr. Mattos is also co-founder and CEO of Candidus, a  horticultural lighting control company developing smart lighting control systems for crop production in greenhouses.
