Marni Karlin, CEA Food Safety Coalition
Indoor Ag-Con Board Member Marni Karlin is the Executive Director of the CEA (Controlled Environment Agriculture) Food Safety Coalition. She leads the Coalition in its mission to develop credible, strong and appropriate food safety standards; educate consumers and regulators on controlled environment growing; and communicate the value of controlled environment agriculture.
Before joining the Coalition, Marni was the head of government affairs and general counsel for the Organic Trade Association. She was also counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee , and a corporate antitrust attorney. She is also principal at Karlin Strategic Consulting. The firm offers policy, communication, advocacy and management solutions to stakeholders dedicated to creating a healthier, more sustainable food system.
A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Indoor Ag-Con Board Member Marni Karlin graduated from The George Washington University with a degree with high honors in International Economics. She received her J.D. with honors from the University of Chicago Law School. Besides her professional skills, she has a passion for cooking delicious food and earned a culinary arts diploma from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France.
